This episode aired live on March 10, 2021 on the Saving Throw Twitch channel and The Fantasy Network, and is archived on the YouTube channel. Summary[]

In this second part, the start of Age 2 is heralded, one year after the events of Age 1. In order to prevent, or at least deter, the above-ground adults from finding their whereabouts, the Secondborn hatch a plan to bomb one of the mines, with Wander being selected to detonate it. While Nano and Dust take care of that plan, Kit and Scar argue about the future, with Kit wanting to start anew off the asteroid, while Scar warns that it could be the end of the Secondborn if they choose to leave. Age 2 ends, and Age 3 begins six months after the detonation of the bomb, which destroyed prime mining space. As a result, new mines had to be opened in much-less favorable places, resulting in the release of a deadly toxin that threatens the Secondborn with several fatalies already having occurred. This forced the remaining Secondborn to move to the above-ground city, slowly eroding at their independence. Dust and Kit meet with Tonka of AstroCore, where they are told that if they accept the condition that they will be placed into a family, they can leave the asteroid, but they must leave behind Nano and Scar. They agree, and Scar is very hurt by this decision. Finally, there is an epilogue of the Secondborn in the future: Nano moves from settlement to settlement, Dust sets up a memorial for the fallen Secondborn, Scar lives and dies in a penal colony, and Kit has a job that takes her back to the asteroid, where she visits the sinkhole for one last time and vows to never go back.

Language: Words Created[]

Dialect involves the creation of words unique to the Isolation. The following are words that were created by the cast in both the first and second parts.

Part 1[]

These are the words that were created during the first part of Dialect:

  • Sinka - an expletive used to refer to someone who is perceived as no longer contributing to the community; also refers to running low on supplies
  • Bowspot - good luck; happy outcome; refers to finding the right spot to stand on to hear the crucial piece of information
  • Loop - Measure of time (ex. It took me three loops to get here)
  • Slappin around - a variant of sinka; refers to doing something silly or mischievous
  • Ehko - filler word; used to fill the air or stall; similar to using um or uh in English

Part 2[]

These are the words that were either created during the second part of Dialect, or were created during the first part and then either changed or removed during Ages 2 and 3 in the second part:

  • Bowspot - in Age 2, was updated to mean the perfect place to plant a bomb; in Age 3, was updated to mean bad luck / avoid at all costs, essentially negating its original meaning of good luck / right spot from Age 1
  • Dai-op - a place that tends to be avoided; refers to the place the Secondborn blew up and resulted in fatalities
  • Strosies - refers to a faction of separatists that have given into AstroCore, looking for the fast way off the asteroid; this word was abandoned once AstroCore left the asteroid
  • F.C. - face call; informal check-in, check-out system to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for
  • Secondborn n Bread - a unity saying used by the Secondborn when times are bleak to remember who they are
